The Fourth Challenge set by Deirdre -
completion date 24th April 2011
The
theme is 'Time'. Time waits for no one and of course we never have enough. This winter has shown me how fleeting time is. So this challenge is to make a quilt which reflects what time means to you.
Deadline
for complete of this challenge is Monday 24th April.
The Third Challenge set by Claire -
completion date 24th February 2011
The theme is "Archi-texture". A number of group projects and exhibitions that I'm working at the moment all seem to be related to buildings, ancient monuments etc. So I've decided to use this challenge as a way to use some of the research, fabric I've been working on.
Deadline for complete of this challenge is Friday 24th February (this is an extended deadline because of the Christmas Holidays).
The Second Challenge set by Angela -
completion date 25th November 2011
The theme is 'Through The Window', and was inspired by a visit to Lacock Abbey; the holiday is, as Angela says, proving inspiring! The end date for this challenge is the 25 October; go to it!
The First Challenge set by Annabel -
completion date 23rd September 2011
Righty ho then, and off we go! I'm setting the first challenge so that no one feels pressured into thinking of something for a completely new group; we're all unknown quantities! I'm keeping it simple for a first go, but be warned, I can get a bit strange!!
Challenges should be broad enough to encompass everyone's styles I think, and to give a bit of thinking room - although doing something out of the comfort zone is great too. My idea of a nightmare is for someone to say "Do a Mariners Compass 6" square in charcoal grey and cadmium red" I'd need counselling.
You can post as you go along and share your thinking processes, or save it for the end date, which for this challenge is 23rd September, and will be Light and Shadow
