A group of internet artists from all over the place who have decided to give each other a challenge every few weeks, on a theme chosen by each in turn. We have different ideas and styles, but share a love of textiles, and want to have some fun.

THE STATE WE'RE IN - CONT.

I feel that we are no further forward.  Have we got a group or not?  I suggest a roll call of everyone who is still reading.  Answer the simple question - are you in or not?  I suggest 7 April as a cut-off date for this.

If we have enough people still interested I suggest that the current blog is shut down & strongly recommend a Yahoo group in its place.  I said this before because it is flexible & easy to use.  It is also much easier for anyone interested to join.  All we need is someone to volunteer to set it up.  I understand that it is simple to do but I cannot organise it as I am running a couple of groups already in addition to my work.

Any volunteers & please can we have a roll call so the position is clearer?

Hi there, I've just got my computer back after its trip to the cyber-hospital for repair for over a month. I'm trying to catch up with everything. I've been in very poor health since taking a share of administering the group and haven't managed to pull my weight at all, or been able to do anything creative for a long time. I did a catch up piece on the theme of Through the Window in November but haven't managed to post it here.

There is a Yahoo Group I set up - initially it was thought an undesirable way of commenting, but when there was a large exodus I set it up. It was not a success but it is there.

I don't know what to say about the group. My own feeling is that it might be best to start anew so that there is no hangover from the problems and failures of the past.

I personally am unsure of how much I woud be able to contribute either creatively or organisationally, having signally failed due to my ongoing health problems, although I'd love another chance to try.

Hello - I would like to do next with the group - in any way whatsoever.
Be it here in the blog or in a Yahoo group.

Yet I have no direct access to this blog - to set up previously by Frauke.

Please excuse my faulty English.

I observe further, how - and if - it goes on!
Let me know.

Do we already have a new topic?

Greetings Luitgard

To Sue

I am really sorry that you have been unwell & I feel guilty now. My comments were not directed at your management at all. However, I think that your difficulties have proved my point which is that we do not talk to each other much given the structure of the blog.

The fact that you have a Yahoo group going still is promising. I believe that you have my e-mail address so would you like to drop me a line if you are able so we can discuss it further?

I do hope that you are feeling better. I am taking a long time to recover from gastric flu so I do appreciate your difficulties. I am sure that your problems are greater than mine.

Regards

Jenny

Hiya everyone who might read this. I was the quilter that set up this blog way back in the day! I'm so sorry that's it's not been as successful as you'd all have liked. It's difficult to find the time to actually do challenges, although the spirit is always willing!

If you fancy joining in a similar idea where the challenges are virtual only, and lots of fun could be had, pop along here.....

Maybe I'll see some of you soon. Axx

Hi,
I am keen to continue in whatever format suits the rest of the group. I am not tech savvy enough to have an opinion of one platform versus another, but I do think it is important that there is communication between the group members - and I have certainly been guilty of not keeping up mey end of any discussion. However, it is disheartening to present a piece, or post to the group and not to have any feedback at all. I am so sorry that members have been unwell, and certainly respect that you may not wish to be public about that. I also understand that when you are unwell you probably don't have the emotional and physical energy or interest in even visitin the blog, let alone posting a comment. Anyway - count me in to continue with the group. Can someone explain what is involved in administering a group such as this (perhaps offline to kathrynr@melbpc.org.au)?
Cheers
Kathryn

I'm still interested to continue with this group. I think what we need is a person who is willing to organize it and a place for (only) the members to communicate. In my eyes a blog is the ideal place to show pictures and get in contact with people outside the group.
Looking forward to a new start!
